I had the extreme pleasure of driving by Citi Field this evening with Alexis, who hadn't seen it in person since the last day of the the '08 season. Her bodily and voiced excitement at seeing the new field all lit up was awesome; I was so glad I was sitting next to her to experience it with her.
Only 26 days 'till we open in St. Louis; only 33 days 'till the new park. I'm giddy with anticipation.

Awww. I'm so glad i got to share it with you, too. It is amazing that while I continue to mourn the loss of Shea, it was the first time I really got excited about my 15 pack for the 2009 season.
Might I add that I would really like it if I could keep referring to "Citi" as "Shea", which continues to happen by mistake, and not have to correct myself. As in, NOT have it be a mistake?
I assert this solution instead: we all should just refer to Citi as "Shea". The tourist might get confused, but they're helpless anyway, so what's the difference?
